Each neighbor chose a word out of the Hawaiian dictionary to represent themselves. Inspired by the Dadaists, I decided to flip the dictionary open and use whatever word my pen tip happened upon. I landed on the word “koi au” which means “flowing current” or “eloquence.”
Craig brought a broken beer bottle to use as a slide, spiriting us away with soulful tunes. A lot of people lingered well into the evening. Loads of icecream and fresh berries to throw on top. I wish we did this more than once a year!
