Today the short-haired jogger with a dog asked me, “How far have you gotten?” I said, “Not very far, it’s been a busy week.” She says, “Well, that’s okay, it’s not the point anyway.” It was really lovely of her to say that and felt true. Beautiful, blue sky. Art and Buster said hi. Art was in a great mood. Neighbor came out in red, plaid bathrobe, and got her paper. Other than that, lots of birdsong, train whistles and quiet joggers.

At the end of my sit, a man rolled down his window and said, “This is your marathon.” This is Ski to Sea weekend, and I’d been thinking about the interesting parallels and differences between my project and this athletic event. I did not make much progress this week–the yarn hasn’t made it to the alley yet. But I stuck with it. Despite staying up late, I made it to my 8 am sit, and that feels great.
All text from my journal about a half mile “knit-to-the-sea” begun May 2012…The line is still unfinished, awaiting warm spring days for possible completion. Thanks for reading!
